Support Service Representative II/Mobile Driver (Mankato)
Open Door Health Center in Mankato, MN, seeks a qualified, passionate, candidate for a full time SSR II-Mobile Driver position for our Mobile Health Clinic that travels across southern Minnesota. This position is responsible for providing patient support services to include interpreting for patients, scheduling, discount and medication assistance programs, supporting medical and dental provider staff with a variety of administrative tasks, operate and maintain mobile health clinic vehicle, be a team player, be respectful and considerate to team members and patients, be professional, and interact with people in the communities in which we serve.
Services are performed in two clinics-a mobile medical and mobile dental unit. These vehicles travel across southern MN. Drivers are not required to have special licensing, only a valid MN driver’s license and the ability to drive a larger vehicle. Light auto mechanical skills are a bonus. This position is eligible for benefits including paid time off, health and dental insurance, retirement savings, and supplemental benefits. Spanish interpreting (oral and written) skills are required.

Formal education as indicated by a High School Diploma/GED or equivalent with two years’ work experience in a community service organization, customer/patient service position, or closely related work or a BA/BS. Experience using computers and Windows software, i.e. Microsoft Word, Excel, etc. Prior safe and successful experience operating a large vehicle (truck, school bus, recreational vehicle or other) is preferred. Possession of Commercial Drivers’ License (CDL) is preferred. Experience with vehicle maintenance and equipment checks is preferred. Must be able to fluently speak, read, and write the Spanish or Somali language and has a good understanding of the Latino and/or Somali culture. Knowledge of financial assistance/insurance programs which are available through state/federal agencies. Demonstrate strong interpersonal skills, the ability to communicate effectively with patients, clinical providers, support staff and have strong organizational and conflict resolution skills and attention to detail. Demonstrate the ability to set goals, prioritize work load and work in a fast-paced and sometime stressful environment.
